Ben and Shira had their end of year piano recital on Friday night. We were especially proud of Shira as she has only been taking piano lessons for 6 weeks.
At her third lesson her teacher asked her if she would like to play a duet with said teacher at the recital. Surprisingly, Shira agreed (with alacrity, I might add). I was very surprised as she is a timid soul who does not like being in the limelight.
Both children played well and more importantly, thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We ended off with a visit to the carnival that comes to Mt Trashmore every June. A hideous parental experience, but sheer wonder for the kids.
Ben thrives on the rides that turn your stomach, while Shira likes the gentle rides. Why am I not surprised?
Here are Ben and Shira with their teacher, Carolyn Bryan.
Ben is holding the certificate he earned for playing in a Playathon in December. The children were raising money for music scholarships for needy children.
